The Department of Public Health provides a variety of services designed to meet the various health needs of the citizens of Neenah. Public Health staff provide community services to residents of all ages, including: Communicable Disease investigation and follow-up, Public Immunization Clinics/Programs, Individual/Family Health Promotion and Education, Maternal Child Health follow-up, Chronic Disease follow-up and Environmental Health programming.

In addition to full-service Public Health programming, the Department of Public Health provides in-school nursing services for the Neenah Joint School District and the parochial school system. City/School Nurses monitor student medication, emergency procedures, immunization compliance for each student as well as providing health screenings and other services to individual students regarding ongoing health concerns. They are members of the NJSD Pupil Services Department.

The Department of Public Health maintains a part-time Sanitarian who provides regular inspections of restaurants, lodging establishments and public swimming facilities as well as educational programs and services related to consumer protection and environmental quality control issues. The City of Neenah Department of Public Health is an "Agent of the State of Wisconsin" in delivering these services.

The Department utilizes a City Sealer of Weights & Measures who inspects and advises local business as to the accuracy of devices that weigh, measure or dispense products to/for consumers.

The Neenah Department of Public Health also provides free immunization for routine childhood vaccines. Not sure whether your child is up to date on his or her immunizations? The suggested immunization schedule can help you determine if your child is compliant for their age. The U.S. Public Health Service, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) has a Recommended Immunization Schedule to follow. These guidelines were developed to comply with state regulations. For a clinic schedule click here: Immunization Clinics Schedule.
