The Mayor is the elected chief executive of the City, who anticipates issues which may affect the City. Goals and responsibilities are as follows:

• Mobilizes support in the community to address City needs.
• Participates with the Council in identifying and solving problems facing the City and in providing a policy framework and guidelines for municipal operations and services.
• Monitors performance of staff in carrying out programs to achieve City goals.
• Seeks to achieve effective coordination and efficient delivery of services to assure economy, accountability and responsiveness to citizen needs.

The Common Council Meets on the first Wednesday of each month. The Mayor holds open office hours on the Wednesday before the first council meeting of the month from 6:00pm until 7:00pm. The Mayor also holds various other office hours as posted in the Post Crescent.

Several committee and board meeting are also scheduled each month. A schedule of meetings and the agendas are posted on our homepage, in city hall and at the library. A directory of all committee members and regular meeting times is available in the clerks office.
