The Neenah Police Department is proud to offer the Citizens' Police Academy to local residents. Participants will learn from department personnel who are experts in the areas of Crime Prevention, SWAT, TAC, Narcotics, Major Crimes, Patrol and Investigative Operations, Traffic Laws, Firearms, and other related fields. TAKE THE CHALLENGE and become part of the Neenah Police Department Citizen's Academy! Meet the men and women of this community that protect you day in and day out, every single day of the year. Learn the challenges they face and how you will be able to help through better understanding and idea sharing with the officers you meet. Students will gain an overall knowledge of the Neenah Police Department: How we are organized. How we serve the community. And how we respond when citizens call. You will be able to experience some of the training and stressors of a police officer.
Instructors are drawn from all levels of the department. Students will meet the Chief of Police, supervisors, patrol officers, detectives, and other department employees. We encourage participants to ask questions and get involved in solving issues. A major goal of the Citizens' Police Academy is to increase understanding between our citizens and the Police Department, and to enhance the strong relationship, which already exists.
Academy Sessions are scheduled to run in the spring and fall. Sessions will be for one full day. Space is limited.
