About Neenah Water Utility

The Neenah Water Utility provides high quality water for all residential, commercial, industrial, and municipal customers in the City. The water supplied meets all applicable United States EPA and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources requirements. The water is supplied in a range of pressure from 45 to 60 pounds per square inch (psi).

The raw water source is Lake Winnebago. The water is treated by lime softening, settling, recarbonation, filtration and granular activated carbon contactors. The water is fluoridated, disinfected with ultraviolet light and sodium hypochlorite. Ammonia is added to help control the disinfection process.

The distribution system contains approximately 141 miles of water main ranging in diameter from 6 inches to 20 inches. There are 1100 fire hydrants in the system. There are two elevated water towers with a total storage capacity of 2,000,000 gallons, and two storage reservoirs with a total storage capacity of 3,000,000 gallons.
