In Office Absentee Voting for August 11th Partisan Primary

Posted on July 7, 2020 by Joni Heinz

In office absentee voting, or early voting, will begin July 28 and run through August 7 during regular business hours, except on the 6th and 7th when we will be open until 5pm.
A recent court ruling has called into question our ability to hold in office absentee voting earlier than two weeks before each election. Because of this we have chosen to begin following the court’s ruling immediately in an effort to be sure all your votes count no matter how or when you vote absentee before the August Election.
If you do not wish to vote at the polls you can request a ballot be sent to your home at www.myvote.wi.gov. You will need to provide a copy of your photo ID if you have not already done so. If you do not feel comfortable mailing your voted ballot back you are welcome to drop it in our drop box at City Hall or bring it directly to the Clerk’s office.
We remind you that the mail does sometimes take a few days to get to you so please request ballots sooner rather than later. State Statute states the deadline to request is August 6 at 5pm; however, the Clerk’s office cannot guarantee ballots sent out that late will be received in time for the voter to return it to us by close of polls on Election Day.
