Spiderweb Sun Catcher
Get in-spider-ed with this fun sun catcher project! Use stringers and pre-cut glass to create a spider and a web. Decorate it with accessory glass to create a unique 4.5″ x 3″ design. Also joining us will be J&R Aquatics with a selection of real live creepy-crawlies. You won’t want to miss out on this Art Activity Day, it’s going to be crawling with fun!

Watch a unique piece of art being created by a professional glass artist as part of our Wisconsin Science Festival Week celebration!
Our mini dragon holds 15 lbs. of molten glass and includes a reheating chamber. You’ll learn about the history of glass art, equipment and tools used by glass artists all over the world, and tricks that glass blowers use to create one of a kind blown glass art. “Why Do Birds Sing?”

A Badger Talk presented by University of Wisconsin Madison Professor Lauren Riters as part of our Wisconsin Science Festival Week celebration.
Scientists have known how birds sing for decades but why they sing is still a puzzle. Do they sing for pleasure? For love? To mark a territory? And how do birds know when and what to sing? This talk will explore these questions and also address what birds learn by listening to songs. Admission is FREE, but registration is required.
