Municipal Vehicle Registration Fee

Starting January 1, 2026, vehicle registration will include an updated fee structure.

The Municipal Vehicle Registration Fee will take the place of the Transportation Assessment Replacement Fee (TARF), which was implemented in 2019.

To help explain the change, we’ve put together a brief FAQ with answers to common questions about what to expect at renewal time.
