City of Neenah Provides Update on Road Closure and Garbage Collection Following Storm

Posted:

The City of Neenah would like to provide residents with the following updates regarding storm recovery operations on Doty Island and throughout the community.

Temporary Road Closure

Beginning this week, South Park Avenue will be closed for through traffic from just south of Winnebago Heights to Yorkshire Drive. Residents on South Park are asked to use caution when using the street as there will be workers present. All other traffic is asked to use alternate routes. This closure is necessary to allow crews to safely and efficiently complete storm cleanup operations. We appreciate the public’s patience as this work continues.

Garbage Collection on Doty Island

Regular household garbage collection will continue as scheduled on Doty Island. Even though there was a special collection on Sunday 8/1, trucks will continue their normal routes on Monday. Residents should place their household garbage out on their normal collection day. If crews are unable to collect all garbage during the regular route because of storm conditions, they will make an additional pass afterward to pick up any remaining bagged household garbage.

Missing Garbage or Recycling Carts

Residents anywhere in the city who are missing their garbage or recycling carts due to the storm should place their household garbage only in sturdy black bags at the terrace for their normal collection day. City crews will make a follow-up pass after the regular collection route to pick up these bags.

Please note that this collection is for household garbage only. Brush, construction debris, and other storm-related materials should continue to follow the City’s established storm debris disposal guidelines.https://www.ci.neenah.wi.us/

If you are missing a cart, please call 920-886-6260

The City of Neenah appreciates everyone’s patience and cooperation as recovery efforts continue. Our crews remain committed to restoring services as quickly and safely as possible.
