The City of Neenah requires new 1&2 family homes and major commercial, multifamily and industrial projects to provide digital versions (PDF files) of construction plans and documents. This includes a general site plan, floor plans, building elevations and any state forms normally submitted at the time of permit Application. The City of Neenah will use this information exclusively to maintain a digital data base of all new buildings and significant features in Neenah. Thank you for your interest in the City of Neenah Building Inspection Division of the Department of Community Development. Our mission is to prevent harm by ensuring compliance with building safety codes before a disaster occurs. Our goal is to provide pleasant, professional, and courteous staff to assist you with your building project. If you are constructing a new structure, remodeling or changing the use of an existing structure, you will require Building Inspection services to assist you in this process. At times the permit submittal requirements might seem to be a little overwhelming. You need not worry, however, as codes, ordinances, and building requirements are designed to protect your health and safety by assuring safe buildings and related site improvements that make Neenah a better place to live, work and play.

The Inspection Division provides citizens, businesses and residents with information on permits needed for building or remodeling as well as costs and procedures for obtaining a permit and inspections. The Inspection Division inspects buildings, plumbing, heating, air conditioning and electrical work on commercial, industrial and residential buildings. The department also enforces City ordinances relating to floodplain, zoning, land use and property upkeep.

It is our hope this site will prove to be helpful when considering a building project within the City of Neenah and we welcome any suggestions that you might have to improve the content of this website.
